Our waitress was pretty friendly and really quick to provide refills. She didn’t pressure us into ordering any extras like restaurants typically do.
The restaurant is very small, but has a nice cozy hometown feel. The wait was pretty long (20 minutes but then again it was a Sunday morning). There is no parking lot so weekend mornings can be difficult to find parking (we went on a Sunday morning right when church was getting out which was probably not the best time!).The only negative aspect was that the tables were close together; I would prefer not listening to other people’s conversations.
I would dine at Corner Café again next time I am in the Newport area. It is one of the best breakfasts I have tried out in the area – affordable prices, large servings, good service, and great food.
Corner Café is a breakfast & lunch restaurant located in the historic section of Newport, Rhode Island. I decided to check out the breakfast here after reading plenty of excellent reviews (it is rated the number 3 top restaurant in Newport by Trip Advisor). This restaurant was a great stop before heading out to area beaches.
The food here was surprisingly cheap, especially for the New England area, where I am used to being overcharged for everything. I enjoyed my omelet and the red potatoes were delicious. The omelets start at only $4.50 and you pay an additional $1 for each vegetable addition. Serving sizes are large.
