Review Details

Meehan's is a great authentic Irish pub in Atlanta. It doesn't have to be St. Patrick's Day to enjoy some tasty authentic Irish fare. If you find yourself craving some traditional Irish comfort favorites like Fish and Chips, do stop by Meehan's for a bite and a pint.

Food

The menu is pretty simple at Meehan's. You have your classic Irish fare, plus sandwiches, salads, and a sizeable selection of appetizers. Try the spinach artichoke dip, the garlic herb hummus, or the house cut fries to start.

You can never go wrong with a good plate of Fish N'Chips. The Guinness battered pacific cod, served with French fries and coleslaw was delicious, although the serving size was a tad small for the price.

Lots of choices for seafood lovers here including an Oyster Bar, Irish Clam Chowder, Smoky Fish Dip, Grilled Salmon, and a Fried Shrimp Platter.

Vegetarians will want to try out the Truffle Mac and Cheese, featuring a 3 cheese sauce and black truffle. If you are looking for a healthy side to go with your meal, the chopped salad is really good and loaded with healthy veggies.

Healthy conscious diners will appreciate the fact that this restaurant works with local farmers and many of the ingredients are locally sourced. As this is quite rare for a pub, definitely a nice little bonus!

Additionally, there are lots of local beers on tap and great Happy Hour deals! They now offer a small brunch menu on weekends which includes options like Chicken and Waffles and a Breakfast Burrito.

Service

Service was just alright. If there was one negative to the visit, it would be the slow, inattentive service. On weekend nights, the staff seems to cater more to the bar crowd vs. the restaurant crowd. On a side note, the artichoke dip had a French fry in it, so they could definitely use a bit more caution in the kitchen.

Atmosphere

The decor at Meehan's is dark and woodsy. It's definitely got that traditional Irish pub feeling. It's a cozy space to hangout for a bit. Live music and special events are often on the lineup, so check the website to stay updated.

Final Words

Meehan's is a great choice in the Atlanta metro region for quality Irish fare. With 3 convenient locations (1 downtown and 2 in the suburbs), you are bound to be within close driving distance no matter where your activities for the day may lead you.
