Swan Terrace is an award winning restaurant located inside Founders Inn and Resort in Virginia Beach. During our stay at Founders Inn, we had an opportunity to test out the breakfast buffet on 2 separate occasions. We were pleased with the service and elegant atmosphere. Having an on site restaurant that serves a breakfast buffet is one of the advantages of staying at Founders.
The breakfast buffet consisted of made to order omelettes, oatmeal, pancakes, potatoes, a few different types of meat, toast, and cereals. The food offered was good, but I expected a bit more variety for $14 per person. I thought they might have a a few specialty breakfast items such as quiche, crepes, etc. However, it was still a nice start to the day. We did not leave hungry and the food was decent enough to warrant a visit the next day.
The service was exceptional, very professional and attentive. Our drinks were refilled timely and our plates were taken away as soon as we were finished. The toaster on the buffet line broke down and our waitress was nice enough to make me toast in the kitchen.
The dining room is very pretty with beautiful chandeliers, big windows with views of the pond and lush landscaping, a nice fireplace...the setting was perfect. I recommend sitting on the beautiful outdoor patio if the weather is nice enough. The grounds at Founders Inn are absolutely beautiful. Serene, beautiful landscaping, and even a beautiful pond with a walking path can be viewed while relaxing on the patio.
I would dine again at Swan Terrace if I find myself back in Virginia Beach at Founders Inn. I love the convenience of having a restaurant right on site. The classy atmosphere and service make Swan Terrace worth a visit.
