Located just a block away from gorgeous Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores Coffee Company is the perfect spot to pick up your morning cup of coffee and a freshly baked muffin before heading out for a day of relaxation on the quiet shores of Indian Rocks. This quaint, local shop serves up great drinks in a relaxing atmosphere. This is my favorite coffee shop in Tampa Bay and it's located within walking distance of my favorite beach.
Muffins and breakfast sandwiches are available to compliment your drink. Although I haven't tried one yet, the gluten-free muffins look fluffy and delicious. The regular muffins are great: I recommend the Morning Glory. The chocolate croissants are also worthy of the caloric splurge. The always have specials too like rice krispie treats. Coffee is organic, which is always a big plus, as non-organic coffee contains many chemicals and pesticides. Although the regular coffee is fantastic, you will also find an assortment of fantastic specialty drinks including an Almond Mocha (dark chocolate and almond milk) and a Banana Mocha (dark chocolate and bananas). A variety of vegan milks available as an easy substitution.
Baristas are friendly and efficient. There is almost never a wait, especially on weekday mornings. UPDATE: The new baristas in recent years have not been friendly at all. Unfortunately, this place used to have very friendly staff. Also, they no longer serve coffee in proper mugs, only paper cups even if you are dining in.
Seating is available both indoors and outdoors. The covered outdoor patio is just perfect on cool mornings and afternoons. You can enjoy a delicious cup of joe while taking in the cool breeze. I love that the space is covered so I don't have to worry about the intense Florida sunlight while I enjoy the coffee experience. There are a limited number of cozy chairs, however, they are taken up quickly on the weekends!
The setting is casual and relaxed, perfect for reading, grabbing a drink with friends, or getting a little bit of work done. Weekday mornings are the perfect time to visit as the shop never gets overly crowded.
I find myself visiting this cute little shop whenever I am in the Indian Shores area. It is one of the best local shops in the area, offering a quiet setting, great organic drinks, and a mellow atmosphere which perfectly compliments the laid-back vibe of this wonderful beach area. If you plan on spending the day at Indian Rocks (the best beach on Florida's Gulf in my opinion), then there is no better place to fuel up than Indian Shores Coffee!
