At the Diner serves the most delicious, over-the-top pancakes in Orlando. If you have a sweet tooth, you will want to plan brunch here. An off day from the theme parks is the perfect opportunity to explore the Orlando foodie scene. This restaurant is known for their crazy pancakes, topped with all sorts of sweets including cereal, nutella, and cookies.
The highlight here is a big menu of specialty pancakes. Everything from Fruity Pebbles, to Reese's Peanut Butter, to Oreos is available. They also serve specialty Stuffed French Toast. Nutella and Banana, French Cannoli, and Strawberry Cream are just a few of the enticing options.
An Orlando vacation is the perfect time to splurge on something decadent that you would not normally order at home. When you are putting endless miles in a day walking around various theme parks, you will likely be burning off way more calories than you do on a typical gym day.
For anyone interested in something a bit more savory, they do offer a rather large selection of omelets, benedicts, bagel sandwiches, as well as lighter fare such as Avocado Toast and an Egg White pita wrap. I am not a big fan of sweets, so I opted for a standard egg and potatoes breakfast plate which was decent enough. Mike, on the other hand loves sweets, and throughout enjoyed the Fruity Pebble cakes. The Huevos Rancheros and Over the Rainbow Bagel (rainbow bagel with strawberry, blueberry, or banana cream cheese) are popular selections as well.
The serving sizes are pretty big so come hungry or be prepared for leftovers.
Service is friendly despite the high traffic setting. If you take a seat at the bar, you can usually get seated faster and receive a bit faster service.
This place gets busy (esp on weekends for brunch) and is always noisy and bustling with people. Be prepared to wait if visiting on a busy weekend. The decor is a bit non existent, although they do offer a nice shady patio seating area.
At the Diner is one of the best breakfast choices outside of the theme parks. It's super close to lots of great attractions on I-Drive, and thus, a great choice on any day you intend on exploring tourist sights away from Universal.
