Charlotte is home to many great Indian restaurants. Sangam, located in suburban Cornelius, is one of your best bets as they offer a wonderful lunch buffet. Featuring a range of North Indian dishes, including lots of vegetarian choices, it's definitely the place to go to enjoy a variety of flavorful and healthy Indian favorites. Many restaurants have closed their buffets recently, so this is one of the few places where you can try out so many flavorful Indian dishes for one low price.
The best time to visit is during the lunch buffet, offered 7 days a week from 11:30-2:30 (12-3 on weekends). At this time, you can mix and match over 10 different Indian entrees and appetizers for one low price. For anyone new to Indian cuisine, this is definitely the way to go as you get to sample such a wide variety of interesting dishes. Pricing is $14 on weekdays and $16 on the weekends, so not too bad considering how much food you get to enjoy.
The buffet usually includes a mix of meat (usually chicken) and vegetarian based entrees. Some of the recent highlights have included Palak Paneer, Vegetable Korma, Naan bread, Pakoras, Samosas, Vegetable Masala, and Chana Masala. Everything is delicious and perfectly spiced (not too mild, not too hot). After your main mail, you will definitely want to treat yourself to some refreshing Kheer (rice pudding). I really love Kheer: I never leaving without treating myself to at least a small bowl! It's so delicious!
Service at Sangam is always fantastic. The staff are all very attentive, making sure your water is refilled and plates cleared. The buffet line is always kept clean and well stocked.
The ambiance is very nice here with the dining room featuring beautiful decor. The vibe is elegant and peaceful. Typically, the restaurant is not overly busy during lunch buffet hours, leading to a quiet, relaxed vibe which is perfect for a date or meeting.
For delicious Indian food at an affordable price point, you can not find a better option than Sangam in the Charlotte area. With the food, service, and ambiance all being top notch, it's an easy pick for lunch. Lots of interesting choices, including plenty of vegetarian options, has brought me back on multiple occasions. This is my go-to for Indian food whenever i am roadtripping from Asheville to Charlotte.
