Lots of touristy diners and cafes are located within walking distance of Clearwater Beach. One of the best options is Clear Sky, a favorite of beachgoers. The menu here includes traditional breakfast favorites along with some Mexican specialities. The space is clean, lively, and the patio is perfect during the milder months. This cafe has been rated one of the top 100 restaurants in the US by Yelp users. If you are seeking a no-frills affordable breakfast destination near the beach, this is one of the better options in the area.
The menu here is quite large with lots of interesting choices. Highlights include a variety of skillets, benedicts, omelets, quiche, waffles and pancakes, and several Mexican entrees. Basically, you can find just about anything on the menu, even if you are a picky eater. The veggie skillet and stuffed burrito we tried were both delicious, yet a bit on the small side.
The portion sizes are a bit small compared to other cafes nearby, although the food is tasty enough to warrant a visit.
As a bonus, they also serve mimosas, Bellini's, and blood Mary's for brunch.
Service is so-so (not as friendly as you would expect in a touristy location), but efficient enough to get the job done.
The vibe inside is basic no-frills diner style, although the outdoor patio is pretty nice. If the weather is nice, do enjoy a nice breakfast dining experience in the fresh air.
Overall, Clear Sky is one of the better dining choices amongst a sea of overpriced tourists traps. As this cafe is located just a half block from the beach, it's super convenient. Just be sure to arrive early if you are visiting during summer months so you can enjoy the lovely patio.
