Jalisco's is a local Mexican Restaurant with 2 locations in Idaho Falls - one on the river and one on 17th Street. I decided to visit the 17th Street location after reading reviews of both locations. We were pleasantly surprised with the food and loved the colorful decor. This is a nice casual dining choice before doing anything else in the city.
Jalisco's offers your typical huge menu of Mexican entrees. From burritos, to enchiladas, to fajitas, it's hard not to find something you will like here. A number of specials are offered. Also, they offer a selection of children's plates. I like that they offer a number of vegetarian options so I don't have to ask for any substitutions. Options include: Fajitas, Burrito, and Enchiladas. I ordered vegetarian fajitas and Mike ordered the chicken burrito. We both were pleased with our entrees. I recommend skipping the optional salad - it consisted of a plate of iceberg lettuce with a few tomatoes. As a bonus, chips and salsa and refried beans are provided while waiting for your entree. On a side note, Idaho Falls magazine has continuously rated Jalisco's the best Mexican restaurant in the city.
Our waiter was very attentive and quickly brought over refills of drinks and chips. One of the friendliest waiters we have experienced in Idaho Falls to date.
Despite the bad location inside a strip mall, the atmosphere inside is pretty nice. It is decorated with a nice colorful theme and we both enjoyed the lively vibe. It was a fun dinner date night destination before seeing a movie. The River Parkway location across from the Greenbelt is a great choice for anyone who wants to enjoy a nice workout, followed by lunch in a nice setting.
Jalisco's is a great stop for Mexican food in Idaho Falls. I recommend this Mexican restaurant over the others I have tried in the region. Great food, service, and an authentic atmosphere would place this local gem on my list of authentic Mexican restaurant to try out in the region.
