Biltmore Village is a charming historical section of Asheville. Many local restaurants comprise the area including a breakfast/lunch gem known as Corner Kitchen. The upscale ambiance and low-key setting make this a great dining choice for a weekend brunch date.
Despite the hidden location, Corner Kitchen is popular with the tourist crowd due to the convenient & beautiful setting! Reservations are recommended!
Corner Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, this place is more well-known for their popular brunch. The menu changes with recent fresh selections including: a Harvest Bowl featuring quinoa and kale, a Fajita Breakfast Bowl, Avocado Toast and Eggs, and and a Toasted Almond, Vanilla, & Flaxseed Granola Bowl.
Of course, they also offer traditional breakfast fare. Sometimes, ordering a classic is the best way to go! Try the Biltmore Breakfast Plate which includes eggs, a biscuit or toast, and red bliss potatoes for a great cheap pick. The 3 egg omelet (pick 2 fillings) is another excellent choice sure to please just about anyone.
As an added bonus, they serve bottomless coffee from local roaster Pennycup.
Menus change with the seasons. Recent Brunch selections have included: Breakfast Quinoa, Biscuits and Gravy, and an Enormous Cinnamon Bun. Recent dinner entrees have included: Seared Verlasso Salmon and a Spring Vegetable Curry. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options on both menus.
Pricing is on the high side.
Service was pretty basic here, attentive, but not overly friendly. The staff was adequate on providing drink refills.
The ambiance is very cozy, being that the restaurant is located inside a historic house. The house was built in 1895, making it over 100 years old!
Another nice bonus is that parking is much easier to find in Biltmore Village than downtown. After breakfast, you can stroll around the shops and galleries of Biltmore Village. The village is a charming place to take a stroll. George Washington Vanderbilt commissioned architect Frederic Law Olmsted (designer of New York's Central Park) to design this gorgeous neighborhood.
Stop by Biltmore Village for a great meal and some shopping before exploring all the wonderful natural attractions in and around Asheville. For good food in a quiet, but touristy location, look no further than Corner Kitchen. The menu changes frequently, however, you can always count on something fresh and eclectic to try.
