Review Details

Log Cabin Pancake House has 2 locations in the Smoky Mountain region: one in Gatlinburg and one in Pigeon Forge. The Gatlinburg location is much bigger and conveniently located off the main tourist road with ample parking. The restaurant is conveniently located within walking distance of many tourist attractions and hotels, making it the perfect breakfast or lunch choice. I have been to both the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg locations; the Gatlinburg restaurant features a larger dining space with a more rustic vibe. This is a nice casual cafe to fuel up prior to hiking in the Smokies.

Food

This family-owned business has been serving comfort fare to locals and tourists alike since 1976. Asides from a large breakfast menu, a number of sandwiches are available for lunch. A daily hot lunch buffet including meats, vegetables, hot rolls, and a salad and dessert bar is offered each day. We both enjoyed the salad and soup bar, although more vegetable options would have been nice. Update: The buffet is no longer available. Mike enjoyed the vegetable soup, although I decided to skip out as it was made using a beef stock base.

Breakfast is the most popular time to visit Log Cabin. For those looking for breakfast, a wide variety of waffle, French toast, and egg specialties are available. From what I noticed, the portions looked pretty big and prices were affordable. They offer your big basic menu of omelets, pancakes, benedicts, and waffles. The all you can eat biscuits and gravy special is popular. Lots of options for those with a sweet tooth including: chocolate chip pancakes, caribbean pancakes, peach crepes, spicy apple french toast, butterscotch waffles, and wild blueberry pancakes.

Service

Service was good. Our waitress was friendly and willing to check with the chefs on any questions we had about ingredients.

Atmosphere

The dining room was large with a nice rustic theme, beautiful holiday decorations, and a cozy fireplace.

Final Words

Log Cabin Pancake House was by no means the best restaurant we tried during our stay in Gatlinburg, however, it is a good option for tourists seeking a quick, affordable restaurant near all the popular Gatlinburg attractions. I am not a huge breakfast fan, however, those who enjoy a hearty breakfast are sure to be in for a treat dining at Log Cabin Pancake House.
