After trying a bunch of mediocre restaurants in the region, I was a bit hesitant to try something new. However, after attending The American Cup event in Worcester, an Irish themed restaurant called O'Connors Restaurant and Bar caught my eye. I love everything Irish and love the pub type atmosphere. I am so happy that I decided to take a chance on O'Connors as it has been one of my best finds in the area so far. I really loved their vegetarian offerings which is quite rare for an Irish pub.
The best thing about O'Connor's is the full page vegetarian menu! It is nice to know that they are keeping their vegetarian guests in mind! I am used to having to make endless substitutions, so it was really nice to be able to just order straight off the menu. So many great options, but I decided to go with the Vegetarian Quiche and I was not disappointed! A delicious Quiche consisting of tomato, cheddar, and broccoli was the quiche of the day.
I also added a cup of butternut squash soup which was well worth the small price tag. Mike loved his Fish and Chips dinner. We split the Duo of "Mac's" Spuds and Cheese Skillets, which was an appetizing plate of mashed baked potato, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and onion.
The menu consists of a mix of traditional Irish and New England seafood specialties. From an Atlantic Seafood Pie, to a Proper Irish Burger, to a Vegetarian Irish Potato Pizza, there's a wee bit of something for everyone on the O'Connor's menu.
The waitress was okay - if the restaurant lacked in any regard it was definitely in the service department. We might of been unlucky with one of the slower waiters on staff. Food took a long time to come out. The drink refills were good though. The waitress was trying to be friendly, but it came off as trying too hard.
I loved the Irish atmosphere which consisted of beautiful dark wood, a lively bar with plenty of beer on tap, stained glass, and Irish memorabilia and decorations hung from every wall. I felt like I was in a pub in Ireland. The restaurant and bar both had a casual, upbeat feeling which was nice.
O'Connor's Restaurant and Bar is a great choice if you find yourself visiting the Worcester Massachusetts area. I loved the Irish theme, the large menu including plenty of vegetarian entrees, and the laid-back pub atmosphere.
