Apollo Flame serves the best Greek food in Asheville. While many traditional favorites like Spanakopita may be missing from the menu, they sure serve the best Greek salad and pitas in town. This is one of my go-to choices for lunch since moving to the city. I love the outdoor patio, the fresh food offerings, and the affordable pricing.
Apollo is a wonderful family-run restaurant which still uses the same recipes since opening back in 1974. They serve delicious & authentic Greek food at a fair price. Apollo has been rated the best Mediterranean restaurant in Asheville for 10+ years.
The menu is rather large with an assortment of appetizers, pizzas, subs, salads, pasta, traditional Greek plates, and American specialties. They also offer a small selection of vegetarian options. Really, there are so many delicious choices here for everyone, from Mediterranean Spaghetti, to Gyro plates, to Mediterranean pizzas, and even a Vegetarian lasagna dish.
I recommending trying out the Veggie pita served with the most delicious Greek salad you will find in Asheville. This is an amazing dish and the portion is huge. You will not need to fill up on any appetizers with this one!
Apollo is also known for their delicious subs. Grilled chicken breast, roast beef, tuna salad - so many choices here! Also be on the lookout for the daily specials and definitely treat yourself to the Baked Spaghetti if available!
Service is prompt and friendly. The food is always served pretty fast, no matter the crowd level.
The setting at Apollo is very casual and inviting. The space is a bit under decorated, however, still appealing and clean. The Brevard Road location features a beautiful covered patio which you can enjoy at least half of the year. I always sit outside if weather permits: the vibe is so relaxed and quiet.
Apollo Flame is a delicious, authentic local Greek joint where recipes have been passed down for 3 generations. The prices are so affordable and the ambiance attractively laid-back. Skip all the overrated congested touristy restaurants downtown in favor of this local gem.
