A lot of buffets entice you with the thought of endless great food for one low price. Unfortunately, when you taste the food it is mediocre. I feel that the breakfast buffet at Toucan Charlie's Buffet inside the Atlantis Casino offers both quality and quantity which is rare for a buffet.
I actually thought the breakfast here was pretty decent for a buffet. There wasn't anything that I didn't like. The made-to-order omelets, hash browns, and quiche I tested were all wonderful. So many breakfast options were available. A very large desert area is also available if you have any appetite left.
We got this buffet cheap during the weekday 2 for 1 special. The 2 for 1 breakfast special runs Monday-Thursday from 8:30am until 10:00am. The normal price is $12 per person so this is a fantastic value. Make sure to sign up for a Club Paradise card to take advantage of this special promotion.
Update: The pricing has gone up a lot in recent years. As of 2025, you can expect to pay between $36-59 depending on the time of day. You do get to choose amongst a wide variety of food offerings which include 6 stations. These include: Carving, Far East, The Grille, Seafood, Pho, Made-to-order Salad,s, Southwest, and a Dessert display which includes gelato.
The only service consisted of a waiter bringing us over drinks and clearing off our plates. Everything was fine in terms of the drinks. When you think about it, a buffet waiter does a lot more work than you think especially with how many plates and drinks they have to constantly clear!
I love the look of this buffet: the interior looks like a tropical paradise. There is a nice spacious dining room at this buffet too compared to others I have been to. There are large booth tables so you feel like you get more privacy.
Toucan Charlie's Buffet at the Atlantis Casino is definitely one of the best buffets in Reno. The atmosphere is nice with the tropical theme. The food is appetizing and plentiful. The weekday special is a steal. I suggest making room for a trip to Toucan Charlie's on your Reno itinerary.
