Eddie and Sam's is the best choice in Tampa for New York style pizza. I absolutely love New York style pizza and will go out of my way to pick up a good slice. They are known for their gigantic 28 inch pizza and their trademark crust which is made using NYC water. Order by the slice or pick up a whole pie. I live way out in the New Tampa region and still drive downtown frequently to enjoy this delicious pizza!
This local's favorite is the best place to enjoy high quality NY style pizza in Tampa. They offer a number of specialty pies including Eggplant Parmesan, Veggie, and Greek, although the plain cheese is good enough in and of itself. Do order the delicious garlic knots as an appetizer. Other apps include mozzarella sticks, cheese fries, fries, and boneless wings.
Other menu items include pastas, wings, salads, heroes, and a selection of NY specialty entrees which includes a meat or veggie stuffed roll, calzones, Chicken roll, and a sausage/onion/green pepper roll. Also, they offer a few desserts including the always delicious Tiramisu, a Brownie Cheesecake, and traditional Cheesecake.
This is a counter service establishment so there could be a long line especially on busy weekends. Nevertheless, the wait is always worth it for high quality pizza.
No seating indoors, however, there are a few small tables outside. Unfortunately, most of the year it is much too hot & humid to bear sitting outside! It's best to pick up your pie to go.
Give Eddie and Sam's a shot if you are seeking top notch NYC style pizza in Tampa. It's the only place in the city where you can enjoy real NY pizza made with real New York water. As a bonus, it is walkable to a number of great city attractions including my favorite, the gorgeous Tampa Theater. I usually enjoy a slice or show before enjoying a movie.
