Asheville is home to so many great indie coffeehouse. All Day Darling is a cozy place to enjoy great drinks and food in the historic Montford neighborhood. This local gem serves delicious breakfast fare, amazing pastries, and premier coffee. As a bonus, they offer one of the nicer shady patios so you can enjoy your cup of joe surrounded by nature.
The menu is creative with lots of healthy choices. Recent highlights have included: mushroom toast with warm brie on sourdough, smashed avocado toast on sourdough, and almond butter toast with oats and fruit on sourdough. If you are seeking something a bit more traditional, the bagel sandwiches are delicious, although a tad overpriced.
They do offer a few pastries as well including the most delicious moist blueberry muffins and delicious chocolate croissants. The pastries here are great and rival any local coffeeshop.
One unique entrée choice here is the Shakshuka. This savory Middle Eastern dish consists of 2 poached eggs in a flavorful tomato based sauce, served with pita and crispy kale.
For anyone craving something sweet, the gluten-free pancakes served with fruit should satisfy your craving.
As far as the coffee goes, they serve top notch coffee from Counter Culture, a renowned roaster based out of Durham. They also offer quite a few specialty drinks such as a Matcha Latte, Hemp Latte, and a Golden turmeric latte. Their regular coffee is a bit on the sweet side, so opt for an Americano if you prefer darker roasts.
This is a counter service establishment, so you will order at the cashier and buss your own table. Not a whole lot of service involved, however, the staff are always pleasant enough. The vibe is low-key and local.
The ambiance in a historic neighborhood of Asheville (as opposed to the touristy downtown) sets this cafe apart from other breakfast establishments. The indoor seating area is small although there are big windows looking out into the garden patio. It's always really bright with the large windows letting in plenty of natural light.
Additionally, a beautiful garden patio invites you to dine alfresco during the warmer months.
Fuel up at All Day Darling with a healthy breakfast and excellent cup of local coffee before exploring the beautiful Blue Ridge mountain region. The blueberry muffins alone warrant a visit! The Shahsuka is amazing is you are looking for something a bit more filling. Not only does All Day offer some of the best breakfast fare in the city, but they also open early (7am), so you can get a head's start on your day's adventures.
