Hollywood Palms is an integrated movie and dinner theater concept located in Naperville, Illinois. This review is just for the restaurant. Despite being theater food, the food here actually isn't too bad. You can order from a full menu as opposed to being limited to the traditional popcorn and candy at your run of the mill theater.
At Hollywood Palms, you can choose from a big menu of entrees and apps, and even dessert. For those who crave traditional movie treats, you can also order candy and popcorn.
I was pleasantly impressed with the food. Everything on the menu has a quirky name which ties in which a movie either past or present. I ordered the Roger Rabbit vegetable wrap and the Oscar Fries (waffle fries with cheese): yum! Most of the items on the menu are your typical pub fare offerings. Many different cocktail drinks, wine, draft beers, Icee frozen drinks, and even milkshakes can be ordered. You will find lots of fun apps, sandwiches, burgers, and desserts. To give you an example, apps include: cheesesticks, loaded fries, a hummus plate, southwest egg rolls, and spinach artichoke dip. Entrees include: Cheeseburgers, a chicken breast sandwich, tacos, and pizza. Dessert Includes Tiramisu and NY style cheesecake. Specials are offered most days of the week.
They now also offer brunch with selections such as Chicken and Waffles, Avocado Toast, and Shrimp and Grits on the lineup. They also serve Lavazza coffee which is fantastic.
The waiter took our order about 10 minutes prior to the movie and everything came out before the movie or shortly after the start. Service was good especially considering the situation. Trying to walk in the dark and serve people in a theater is a hard task!
Hollywood Palms is a really unique concept where you can watch the latest flick while also being served food. Tickets are reasonably priced for movies, even a bit cheaper than a standard theater. They have cool swivel computer type chairs to sit on, which I found more comfortable that typical movie theater seating. The lobby décor 9which consists of old Hollywood pictures) is very beautiful.
I would definitely visit Hollywood Palms again because it is a complete night out in a single location. I think there should be more establishments like this one throughout the country. Update: I have visited this theater again many times and have never been disappointed. I especially love their events where they screen classic movies. They also hold celeb meet and greets. I have met Karolyn Grimes who played ZuZu Bailey in "It's a Wonderful Life" and also Corey Feldman, who has been in a ton of amazing 80's movies. Recently, I attended the Corey Feldman marathon where they aired 4 of my favorite movies: "Stand by Me," "License to Drive," "The Goonies," and "The Lost Boys." What a wonderful day out!
