Cibo is hands down the best place to enjoy great pizza in the Phoenix area. Not only is the pizza fabulous, but so is the gorgeous outdoor patio. If you like pizza and al fresco dining, you will not find a better choice in Phoenix than Cibo. It's the best choice to dine downtown and a great date night destination.
Cibo specializes in Neapolitan style pizza, of which more than a dozen varieties are available. Both red and white sauce variations are available, in addition to selections featuring various different types of meats, cheeses, and vegetables. This pizza, which originated in Naples, Italy, is baked for 60-90 seconds in a 900 degree oven.
This style of pizza is only served in a 12 inch size, so one pie per person is usually recommended, unless you will be splitting other appetizers. We tried both the Quattro Formaggi and the Marinara with roasted olives, and they were both so delicious. There are lots of option on this menu including several vegetarian choices include: Funghi, Vegetariana, and Margherita. The Noce looks delicious too: it's basically marinara and mozarella, with ricotta, walnuts, and arugula.
In addition to pizza, a number of appetizers, salads, and even housemade pasta dishes (after 4pm) are now available. The Mixed Vegetable app (a big plate of roasted vegetables drizzled with olive oil) looks fantastic and will be next on my list. The salads look so fresh and delicious. Desserts include a variety of homemade crepes, all using nutella. They also offer a nutella shake and tiramisu.
Happy Hour is the perfect time to plan your visit as you can enjoy a number of appetizers for just 3-6 bucks, as well enjoy a glass of house wine on the lovely patio for just 4 bucks.
Service was fantastic. No complaints whatsoever!
Cibo is located downtown in a restored 1913 bungalow. The interior is beautiful with exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, and a fireplace. The ambiance is cozy and perfect for a nice Italian dinner out in the city. Even better is the gorgeous outdoor garden patio, which is lit up at night, shady, and nicely landscaped. Heat lamps are available for those chilly winter nights (yes, it does get cold at night in the desert!).
Cibo is one of the nicest dining experiences you will have in the Phoenix metro area. In addition to serving high quality pizza, you really can't beat the fantastic outdoor patio, the great downtown location, and the fantastic Happy Hour deals. I can't wait to come back and try the Vegetariana pizza and the Eggplant Parmesan app.
