Philly is the cheesesteak capital of the world, and thus, you really cannot leave without trying at least one while you are here. Ishkabibbles is the hidden gem to check out if you are seeking something off-the-beaten path.
Often bypassed in favor of more trendy options, Ishkabibbles nevertheless comes in as the best place to indulge in an authentic cheesesteak. I love that they offer a veggie version!
Ishkabibbles is known for having the best chicken cheesesteaks in town. Although they are quite pricey compared to others in town ($9-10 a piece), it's worth the splurge if you are seeking the best chicken cheesesteak in town. They are also known for serving the best veggie hoagies in the area, so veggie friends do not need to sit this one out!
Also be sure to indulge in an order of their award winning fries. Combos include fries which will save you a few bucks. Other tasty apps to complete your meal include mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and fried mushrooms.
Service was just so-so here, not really overly friendly, nor rude. The Cheesesteak was made quickly without sacrificing quality.
The interior is small without much in the decor department. Do not come here looking for a fancy dining ambiance. This is simply a place to enjoy a quality cheesesteak.
Give Ishkabibbles a try if you are looking for something other than tourist favorites Geno's and Pat's. Although a tad overpriced, Ishkabibbles offers the best tasting cheesesteaks, along with the best fries in town. I would visit again just to order the delicious fries. It's a must visit for anyone new to Philly.
Conveniently, Ishkabibbles is located within walking distance of Old City, so you can take a little stroll over here after your morning of historical exploration.
