Review Details

Swamp Rabbit is the place to go for great coffee, healthy eats, and the most delicious homemade pastries. At his local co-op/cofffeehouse, you can enjoy a local cup of coffee and pastry on the patio, shop for healthy produce, and pick up a loaf of homemade bread. It's one of the better coffeehouses in town as they use local beans for all their coffee drinks.

As an added bonus, the Swamp Rabbit bike trail starts here, so you can hop on/off before your coffee break. I spend many weekends enjoying pastry and coffee on the patio followed by a ride on this great urban trail.

Food

Swamp Rabbit serves 2 different drip coffees, usually a dark and medium roast. Both options are always great as the use beans from local roasters. They also offer all the traditional espresso based drinks. If visiting in the fall, you must try their Pumpkin Spice Latte which is made with real pumpkin! It definitely competes with Starbuck's iconic seasonal drink!

Additionally, there are many tempting treats to choose amongst. They always have great donuts including a vegan/GF option. I once tried an amazing vegan/gf strawberry donut and really you could not tell the difference! The chocolate croissant and cinnamon rolls are both amazing, and I have found myself ordering them on more than one occasion. If available, the blueberry slab pie is pretty good too!

Also be sure to pick up a loaf of fresh stecca bread (made fresh daily in house) and produce/fruit from local farms. Lots of fresh local products to choose from here. This is the place to go if you need organic, local, vegan, gluten free, etc. Also, their apparel is really cute!

Service

Service is always friendly although the line can be long on busy weekends. This is a counter ordering place, so at times, it can be a bit inconvenient trying to see which pastries are available before your turn to order.

Atmosphere

This is a trendy bustling place. You will always find a good crowd here enjoying the fresh eats and drinks, especially during the summer season. The patio is perfect for relaxing with a cup of joe (or 2) during the warmer months. Grab a drink and pastry and enjoy the outdoorsy setting.

Final Words

Swamp Rabbit is one of the best places to enjoy a light breakfast and great cup of coffee all in the same place. I have never been disappointed by any of the coffee roasts or pastries. I love that you can hop right on the beautiful Swamp Rabbit trail after your meal.
