Review Details

If you are craving authentic Indian cuisine in the Orlando region, Aashirwad is one of the better authentic options in the city. They offer an affordable all-you-can-eat lunch buffet and Thalis, plus it's super convenient to Universal Studios, I-Drive, and most popular attractions. Stop by for some tasty Indian food after a long day in the sun.

Food

Aashirwad is one of 3 Orlando area Indian restaurants started by Amit Kumar of Northern Indian, who studied at the culinary school of New Delhi. The restaurant's menu incorporates modern as well as Indian street food. Everything is scratch made and totally delicious.

The best time to visit is during lunch hours when you can indulge an all-you-can-eat buffet. If you are new to Indian food, this is the way to go as you can mix and match various entrees and appetizers for one low price. This is always my preferred way to eat Indian food! Everything is so good that I have a hard time choosing just one entree. A thali is also a great deal - both veg and non veg versions available. Try the Aloo Gobi or Palak Paneer. Each Thali comes with an entree (from a selected list), basmati rice, lentils, a samosa, and Naan Bread.

The buffet includes a mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian appetizers. Delicious naan and rice pudding are also included. The Kheer (rice pudding) was the highlight for me: a nice cooling treat after all that spice! Highlights include samosa, Kadhai Paneer and Chicken Saag. The food is definitely on the spicy side, so consider ordering from the menu if you have a low tolerance for spice. If you do decide to order an entree, I recommend the Palak Paneer.

Service

Service is very helpful and attentive. The staff has no problem answering any questions you may have. Refills are always on time and plates are cleared quickly. The buffet is not self-service, although the staff does a good job with the unique set up.

Atmosphere

The ambiance is modern and attractive. The decor and layout are very appealing. This is a great place for an afternoon date.

Final Words

Overall, Aashirwad is probably your best bet for an authentic Indian dining buffet experience in Orlando. The interesting modern dishes, diversity of vegetarian choices, beautiful ambiance, and great service put it near the top of my list. That being said, you must come prepared to handle a lot of spice! Seriously, this is the spiciest Indian food I've ever tasted and I have dined at many restaurants throughout the US!
