Zuppa's serves the best homemade soups and sandwiches in the Pittsburgh metro. With 2 convenient locations in Wexford and Cranberry Township, it's easy to incorporate a lunch visit into your daily plans. Lots of fresh offerings here including a few veggie friendly soups including the tastiest tomato basil. I usually stop at the Wexford cafe before walking or ice skating at beautiful North Park.
Zuppa's serves a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and paninis. Everything is made fresh on-site using high quality Italian meats and old world cheeses.
They offer a great lunch deal similar to Panera Bread's You Pick Two special. This deal includes half a sandwich and either a soup or side, plus pickle for under 15 bucks. The tomato basil and spicy shrimp and corn chowder are both excellent choices. Deli sides include mac and cheese, mushroom stuffing, and deviled eggs.
As far as sandwich options go, the Veggie Panini is a great choice for health conscious diners. This vegetarian specialty includes oven roasted portobello mushrooms, zucchini, spinach, mozzarella, roasted peppers, and chipotle aioli on grilled brioche bread. Pair it with a soup of your choice and you have a delicious, filling, and healthy lunch entree.
This is a counter service establishment where you buss your own table, however, the little service provided is friendly enough. Despite the weekend traffic, food usually comes out within 10 minutes or so.
The decor is a bit limited and bland, however, the space appears clean and well maintained. It's a great choice for a quick, no-frills lunch in between shopping or other activities. I usually visit this cafe when I am dressed to hike or skate as the setting is so casual and low-key.
If you find yourself in Wexford for the day seeking a delicious and casual lunch destination before shopping or visiting local attractions like North Park, consider stopping at Zuppa's. It is a nice healthy alternative to the many chains populating the region.
