Looking for a casual place to enjoy some comfort food after a long day in the sun? Consider stopping by Original Pizza for a slice of pizza, a calzone, or Stromboli after relaxing at nearby Treasure Island. This vibe is beach casual and the food is decent enough to warrant a visit. A decent place to fuel up after a tiresome day in the sun.
This counter service restaurant serves a number of specialty pizzas, along with pasta entrees, Stromboli, calzones, muffulettas, and several appetizers. The pizza is average at best, but one of the only choices in close proximity to the beach.
It's decent enough to warrant a visit, just keep your expectations low. At least it is affordable compared to the touristy rip offs dominating the area.
The vegetarian Stromboli was pretty good. Their breadsticks and hoagies are super popular.
Service is good, although the food wait can be super long on busy weekends.
Not much decor or ambiance to speak of as this is a counter service establishment with little seating. It's more of a pickup place, although they do have a limited number of seats inside and on the small patio. Many people choose to take their pizza to go and enjoy the Gulf sunset.
Original Pizza is a good choice if you are craving pizza and visiting a nearby beach like Treasure Island or Madeira. The atmosphere is super casual so you can come in straight from the beach.
