Review Details

Creekside American Bistro offers a fantastic al fresco dining experience in beautiful Sedona. This cafe is an excellent place to both enjoy quality American cuisine and take in fantastic views of Sedona's amazing rock formations.

At Creekside, you can relax on the beautiful patio as you enjoy the beautiful trees, creek, and rock formations that comprise Oak Creek. It is one of my favorite breakfast destinations, especially when I want to take my time and enjoy the scenery.

Food

Chef Mohr, who has won the title of San Francisco Chef of the Year, brings forth a menu of quality dishes, many of which use local and organic ingredients.

Breakfast includes an assortment of traditional and American Southwest favorites such as Breakfast Tacos, French Toast, and Breakfast Burritos.

I highly recommend the Sedona Scramble, a tasty mixture of eggs, goat cheese, asparagus, artichokes, tomatoes, wild thyme potatoes, fresh basil, focaccia toast, and grilled ham (I substituted avocado for the ham and it was delicious!). If you are avoiding gluten, you can replace the focaccia with gluten-free toast.

A separate gluten- free and vegetarian menu is available by request. You will find a nice selection of entrees for both diets on the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. As a recommendation for the future, a few more vegan options as well as more gluten-free appetizers would open up more choices for guests with allergies.

Lunch at Creekside includes a selection of sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. A few highlights include Green Chilli Soup with Chicken, Ken's Crab Cake Lunch, and a Mediterranean Red Quinoa Salad.

Dinner includes many of the same selections as lunch with the addition of a few more meat/seafood entrees such as Salmon, Duck Confit, Boneless Trout, and Blackened Hawaiian Ahi Tuna.

A full drink menu is available along with a daily Happy Hour deal on drinks and appetizers from 4-6:30pm daily.

Update: A few new additions to the breakfast menu include: French Toast with warm Nutella and a Crispy Belgian Waffle. You can always enjoy one of the favorites like a Sonoran Burrito, Chilaquiles, and Huevos Rancheros. For lunch, you can try everything from Maryland Blue Crab Cakes, to a Ramen Bowl, to a Vegan Bento Box. Dinner selections include: High Country Shrimp and Grits, Penne Pasta Carbonara with Chicken and English Peas, and Salmon either baked or blackened.

Service

Service was exceptional. Our waiter was very informed on allergy friendly selections and had no problems making multiple substitutions to make a dish vegetarian friendly. The presentation of all dishes was excellent and the food itself delicious and filling. Update: On further visits, the service remains exceptional.

Atmosphere

Although the indoor dining room is beautiful, nothing beats sitting outside taking in the gorgeous views of the red rocks. From the patio, you will have a clear view of the Snoopy rock formation.

You might as well take advantage of Creekside's prime location on the creek and enjoy your breakfast or lunch in the tranquil, picturesque setting.

Final Words

Creekside is one of the best places to enjoy breakfast in Sedona. Here, you can enjoy a filling Southwestern breakfast on a comfortable patio, all while taking in more of Sedona's fabulous views. Because no matter how many hikes and scenic tours you enjoy, you can never get enough of the beautiful red rock landscapes surrounding this unique area of the country!
