This former library-turned cafe is the ideal place to catch up on some reading, relax, or simply enjoy a fresh cup of coffee amongst friends. Formerly the Lakeville Public Library (built in 1914), this shop retains the classic charm, complete with shelves and shelves of books which you can browse through over a great cup of joe. Staff is always friendly and happy to be there, it’s never too crowded, and the music is never too overpowering.

Somethin’s Brewin’ really has a local appeal and one can easily see that the staff cares about the business, rather than merely operating for a profit. This is evident in the monthly small business spotlights held to help community members get news of their business out there.

Coffee is always top notch, with several roasts available. Oh, and you must try a delicious homemade quiche!

The loose leaf tea list is extensive and staff is obviously passionate about tea, as evidenced by their enthusiastic recommendations and general knowledge. Tea tastings are offered throughout the year. Southern hospitality is alive and well at Copper Kettle: the staff is really as interested in your day as much as your tea experience. Not something you experience on a regular basis anymore these days, unfortunately.

Tea and coffee are both wonderful at Copper Kettle. I recommend a delicious pot of White Peony for a bit of an afternoon pick me up. If you are not a tea drinker, their dark roast coffee is a great alternative. Also be sure to try out a home baked treat from the daily rotating menu.
