Courthouse Falls is a gorgeous 45 foot tall waterfall located in a beautiful cove in the Pisgah National Forest of Western North Carolina.
I love hiking, but seeing a waterfall at the end of the trail makes the trek even more worthwhile. Just seeing the water tumbling down the rocks and hearing the rush is so exciting and peaceful and rejuvenating at the same time. I really got into waterfalls after living in the Western North Carolina region where you will find over 200 beautiful falls.
I have hiked to so many incredible falls in the Eastern states, from national park gems to dazzling wonders on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina are home to hundreds of breathtaking falls, many easily accessible via a short hike.

While I haven't seen as many waterfalls (yet) in the Western states, the falls I've seen thus far in states like Colorado and Idaho have been pretty impressive. I've always wanted to hike to Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon but it requires a pricey permit (maybe one of these days!).
