Shopping, Dining & Fireworks at Patriot Place

Patriot Place is an outdoor shopping center located adjacent to Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. This open air center opened in 2008, making it a fairly recent addition to the area. You will find most of the traditional mall shopping stores here, restaurants, a Showcase Cinema De Lux, and special events. There are over 10 restaurants, including tourist favorites like Toby Keith’s I Love this Bar & Grill and Bar Louie, and Fat Tuesday.
We decided to walk around after completing the Finish at the 50 5k race. This was one of the most fun themed races I’ve ever participated in. There was a massive heat wave (it was like 90 degrees and humid), but it was so much fun running into Gillette Stadium.
As a long time fan of both Brady and the Patriots, this was such a fun experience! I recommend checking it out if you are looking for a great summer 5k run. UPDATE: This race was cancelled in 2023. I hope they bring it back someday!

Boston Strong!
There is a “Boston Strong” sand sculpture near the front entrance. For those not familiar with the term, Boston Strong was created in response to the horrific Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. One of Mike’s students at Neighborhood House Charter School was sadly killed during the bombing. It was quite an impressive scultpure and a nice memorial to those killed.

Dining, shopping, & entertaiment options
We ate dinner at a restaurant called Tavolino. After a hard race, I was ready to indulge in some carbs. Originally, we planned on dining at Toby Keith’s or CBS Scene, however, they both had over a 2 hour because of the influx of people coming in after the race. We were pleasantly surprised. Tavolino features nice outdoor seating, great pizza, and a relaxed atmosphere.
You can never go wrong with a delicious pizza, especially after burning a bunch of calories in a hard run! They also offer salads, sandwiches, both white and red sauce pizzas, and various pasta entrees like spaghetti and meatballs, butternut squash ravioli, and chicken piccata. Basically, there are a lot of options for everyone.

The outdoor seating is perfect for summer nights and people watching. After a long winter (and oftentimes still chilly spring season), it’s nice to dine alfresco during the warm summer season. This metro offers a surprising high number of outdoor dining options which I didn’t expect at all.

Other restaurants at Patriot Place include: Olive Garden, Bar Louie, Wormtown Brewery, and Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse. Check the mall webpage for a current listing of restaurants as they are subject to change.
Entertainment on-site includes Splitsville Luxury Lanes which is a really nice bowling alley which offers a great menu and live music on the weekends. I visited the Orlando location a few years ago, but I haven’t’ been to this once yet. It sounds like fun!
You won’t find your typical shop lineup like a regular mall but a diverse selection that includes: Express, Bass Pro Shops, Cardvault by Tom Brady, Patriots Pro Shop, Victoria’s Secret, and Ulta Beauty.
Must try treats
Cupcake Charlie’s – Popular regional cupcake chain known for their specialty flavors.
Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt – Delicious self-serve yogurt bar with many tasty toppings to choose amongst.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe – Popular chain known for their healthy wraps, juiced drinks, and smoothies.

The event lineup
There was a special pre 4th of July fireworks show during our visit, not the best I’ve ever seen, but a decent display. This mall frequently hosts various events, especially over the summer months. Check the calendar of events to plan your next visit! You will find a lineup of live music events suitable for the whole family.
