Bouchon at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada

Bouchon is easily one of the best restaurants on the Vegas Strip. If you are looking for a relaxing restaurant with fantastic French inspired cuisine, exquisite service, and a beautiful setting, look no further than this wonderful little French cafe located in the Venezia tower of the gorgeous Italian themed Venetian Casino Resort. Mike and I tried this fabulous restaurant out on our most recent trip as we had heard so much positive press.

Times Magazine named Chef Thomas Keller “America’s Best Chef” in 2001. One of Keller’s restaurants, The French Laundry in Yountville, was amongst the recipients of “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants” award by British Magazine Restaurant.

2014 marked the 10 year anniversary of this fantastic establishment. Other locations include Yountville and Beverly Hills, California, as well in New York City. Update: 2024 marked the 20th anniversary of this gem. I hope it stays around for another decade!

The casual, yet classy setting, relaxing outdoor seating, and tempting menu of French favorites, including delicious pastries and breakfast dishes, make Bouchon my favorite place thus far on The Strip for a laid-back brunch date. Not surprisingly, this restaurant has been the recipient of many awards including Best Breakfast Spot by Las Vegas Life Magazine and 50 Must-Eat Las Vegas Meals by the Las Vegas Sun.

Delicious brunch selections

It was a long wait but we were not starving thanks to some complimentary treats (almond tea cakes) they were offering while we were waiting. After trying these, I really wanted to make another stop at the bakery to purchase a few more treats for the hotel room. The bakery is located in the Grand Canal Shoppes area. You will find every treat imaginable here including: croissants, danishes, cookies, brownies, macarons, and seasonal fruit tarts.

The cuisine here is inspired by Keller’s travels throughout France. Although the menu changes with the seasons, a few favorites like Croque Madame, Beignets du Jour, Roast Chicken, and Lemon Tart remain.

The brunch menu is so tempting, it is quite difficult to choose just one item. The assortment of pastries and spiced donuts with homemade jam should please anyone with a sweet tooth. I saw a lot of tables around us ordering this starter.

While waiting for our meals, we were served a crispy baguette, deliciously crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. This bread, when topped with fresh butter or jam, is so delicious that you might just decide to purchase a loaf to take home with you!

The fluffy Blueberry muffin is a delicious side that you must try out. Take a look below at this fluffy and moist treat! I am not typically big on muffins but this one was so delicious!

The Brioche French Toast topped with Blueberry Compote, and served with vanilla bean butter and Crown Maple Syrup, was such a great. Sure it is loaded with sugar, however, you are on vacation and a little indulgence never hurt anyone!

Even better than the French Toast was the amazing Quiche du Jour, served with a spring salad. The Quiche of the day happened to be my favorite, a savory veggie version. I also really enjoyed my side of Lyonnaise potatoes – the perfect compliment to get in a bit of carbs before embarking on my half marathon.

The perfect setting for a leisurely date

The wait which was not surprising as this is one of the most popular Vegas restaurants, not to mention the extra crowds in town for the Rock N’Roll Marathon. On a side note, I highly recommend this half marathon to anyone looking for a fun, themed race. This race is unique as you run right on the Strip. Really, when will you get another opportunity to explore the Strip minus traffic? In my opinion, the fantastic food, ambiance, and service all justified the long wait.

We did not mind the wait as were were in no hurry and I gladly took some much needed time to relax before embarking on a 13 mile run later that day. The wait was well worth it as all the food was absolutely delicious!

Aside from the wonderful food and service, the real highlight of dining here for me was taking the time to unwind and enjoy a few treats on the pretty outdoor terrace, a beautifully landscaped space by the Venetian pool featuring fountains and lush landscaping. A long brunch here is the ideal recovery breakfast after a long, noisy night on The Strip. Here you can relax and take your time, far away from the tourist congestion. The outdoor seating is so much more low-key (it’s quite noisy inside with all the crowds).

More to do at The Venetian

And since you have to stroll through this beautiful property to get to the restaurant, you will get the added bonus of taking in the gorgeous architecture and colorful ceilings (inspired by Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel). If you do have the funds, staying at this fancy resort is a wonderful experience. Do stop by to view the gorgeous artwork regardless of whether or not you are a guest!

Taking a gondola ride is the perfect accompaniment to a romantic French meal on the patio. The gondola rides start in the Grand Canal Shoppes area of the resort. The rides are a bit pricey, but then again so is everything in this city.

In my opinion, this is easily one of the most gorgeous resorts on The Strip, and dining at this French gem is the perfect compliment for your stay (although more than worthy of a visit even if you are not staying at the hotel).
