Movie Filming Locations

I am a big movie buff and I love visiting iconic movie locations around the country. I especially seek out memorable places from my favorite 80's and 90's movies. I will continue adding more sites as I travel more. One of the top places on my bucket list to see is "The Goonies" house in beautiful Astoria, Oregon.

U.S. East

I am a big Christmas buff so I loved seeing the Mcallister house in the North Shore of Chicago. If you are a fan of John Hughes like me, you will want to take a self-guided tour of all his famous movies houses like "Sixteen Candles" and "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles." Another filming site I really want to see sometime is the iconic Ghostbusters firehouse in NYC!

U.S. West

The best place out West to see a lot of famous movie sites all in one place is definitely Los Angeles aka La La Land. So many major movies filmed here, especially at the Santa Monica Pier & the Griffith Observatory. Seeing a taping of a sitcom or talk show is super fun too. We had a blast seeing many shows taped live including: "BIg Brother," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Price is Right" and many others over the years. At the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you can catch a glimpse of your favorite celebs walking the red carpet.
