Squaw Valley, home to the 1960 Winter Olympics, is one of the largest ski resorts in the US. The highlight here is a scenic tram ride, which takes you up 2000 feet through the spectacular scenery of the Lake Tahoe region.
At an elevation of 8200 feet, you will be treated to one of a kind views of the surrounding mountains. Winter activities include: ice skating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, dog sledding, and more. There is a nice tribute to the Winter Olympics for those interested in sports.
At the Village at Squaw Valley, you will have your pick among an assortment of dining and shopping opportunities. Outdoor fire pits, Christmas decor, and snow capped mountains
add to the festive holiday setting.
5. Ice skating in Boston Common
The highlight of the winter season in Boston is ice skating in beautiful Boston Common. In the winter, Frog Pond is transformed into a festive ice rink, surrounded by beautiful lit up trees. After your skating sessions, take a stroll around historic Boston Common, the country’s oldest public park. Here you will find the annual Christmas tree.

6. Relaxing on an old fashioned sleigh ride & enjoing an ice skating adventure in a winter wonderland at New Hampshire’s Nestlenook Farm
The most picturesque area you could imagine for holiday festivities. Enjoy a classic wintry ride upon a horse drawn sleigh ride, then head over to the ice rink on Emerald Lake for a picture perfect setting. The gorgeous mountains, chime music, and beautiful decor provides the perfect elegant setting for winter fun. The ice rink is straight out of snowglobe.
