Malia's Cafe
Malia’s Café is a fantastic local gem, tucked away just a block away from Ocean City’s famous boardwalk. If you are not a local resident, you will probably miss out on this great treat!
Malia’s offers a menu with choices for everyone, including those with difficult allergies. Next time you head over to Ocean City, be sure to treat yourself to something different. At Malia’s, you will have your pick amongst dozens of nutritious meals, all while being served in a cozy, beach inspired environment.
Food
Malia’s is open for breakfast and lunch. On the menu, you will find an assortment of healthy wraps, sandwiches, salads, tacos, fish and chips, light appetizers, and more.
Guests have their choice amongst a whole wheat or gluten free wrap, which is always a great option for gluten sensitive individuals. Each meal is served with a pickle and side of blue corn chips.
Aeriel's Avocado (avocado, sprouts, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, Munster Cheese and cucumbers) and the Malia’s Wrap (hummus, cucumbers, sprouts, carrots, oil and vinegar, tomatoes, onions, Feta cheese, and lettuce) were both outstanding. I will definitely try to duplicate these wraps myself at home!
Note: most menu items can be made vegan by omitting the cheese and/or making other minor substitutions.
Service
Service at Malia’s was good, not overly friendly, yet efficient. Although we visited during breakfast hours, our waiter was able to accommodate us with a few choices from the lunch menu. Staff seemed well informed about various allergens and knew great substitutions to duplicate the taste.
Atmosphere
Malia’s offers both indoor and outdoor seating, both of which offer a beachy theme. The open air seating is great for breezy spring days. The inside features a beach inspired design, although I prefer outdoor seating, especially in warm weather destinations.
Take a nice relaxing break and enjoy your lunch outside in the beautiful sunshine. Note: there is a covered awning so you will not get overheated!
Final Remarks
Malia’s is the perfect treat for health conscious diners living in or visiting Ocean City. Affordable, healthy lunch options will make you feel less guilty about dining out.
