Review Details

The Capitol Hill neighborhood is a wonderful place to book at hotel in D.C. as you will be within walking distance of many attractions. The wonderful Capitol Hill Hotel is the best budget lodging choice in the area. A range of great amenities including a breakfast buffet and wine hour make this both a convenient and affordable choice.

Appearance

This is a clean and well maintained hotel. Simplistic and modern. It's a great choice for anyone seeking a nice budget lodging choice.

Amenities

The best part about staying here is the great amenity offerings compared to nearby hotels. First off, there is a breakfast buffet included. I was satisfied with the options which included several hot items plus traditional complementary offerings. The coffee is great too! Other amenities include: a hotel fitness center with Peloton bikes, free seasonal bike usage, and all day coffee and tea. Also, this is one of a few hotels which is pet friendly. The best amenities of all is being able to step out the doors and walk to all the wonderful Smithsonian museums and historical sites. Also, be sure to take a quick walk over to explore the beautiful Library of Congress, located just minutes away.

Price

Room rates vary depending on time of the year. During the slow season, you can get rooms for under $150. Expect to pay more on summer weekends and during popular events like the Cherry Blossom Festival. Att this time of year, rates can soar above $400. I love visiting during the winter season: room rates are at their cheapest and crowds are non existent!

Room

The rooms here are simple, yet well maintained. I love the colorful DC skyline pillows. The shower is spacious and includes body soap and shampoo dispensers which is nice. Kitchens or kitchenettes available. All rooms are non smoking.

Final Words

I love this hotel for its' great amenities, affordable pricing, and close distance to many great restaurants and attractions. Assuming you visit outside of a special festival, you can receive some great rates here. The fact that you can enjoy a nice night sleep in a clean, comfortable room, enjoy a filling breakfast for free, and walk to your destination really earns this one a great rating in my book!
