Roost, located in the upscale Hyatt Regency in downtown Greenville, is the place to go for fresh healthy food in downtown Greenville. Everything at Roost is handcrafted, fresh, and delicious. If you care about the quality of your food, Roost is one of the best choices in town. This restaurant is one of the few to use all domestic, in season ingredients, plus no high fructose corn syrup. The highlight here is a weekday farm-to-table lunch buffet featuring 2 homemade soups and a full garden bar. I often enjoy the buffet here during the week on a longer lunch break. I love all the fresh offerings.
The highlight of the Roost menu is the incorporation of fresh local ingredients in every single dish. You will find fresh salads featuring local produce, burgers and sandwiches topped with locally raised meats, and sustainable seafood.
The best value here is the "Harvest Table" lunch buffet, offered Monday-Friday. On the buffet line, you will be treated to a full salad bar, several deli sides, 2 fresh homemade soups, and an assortment of flatbreads. It's an excellent value.
Another great time to plan your visit is during breakfast buffet hours when a sizeable offering of breakfast fare including made-to-order omelets, pastries, and Southern specialties, all included for one low price.
In an area with very pricey restaurant offerings, the all inclusive buffets are a great value. Sunday Brunch is even more over-the-top with a sizeable selection of lunch fare plus a mouthwatering selection of desserts. A bit pricier, yet the selection is more diverse.
Service at Roost is always exceptional. The waitstaff are all super professional and the food presentation is never lacking.
The setting at Roost is upscale, yet casual enough that you do not have to worry if you come in underdressed. The decor is beautiful - modern and trendy. The open air bar area is contemporary and sleek: the perfect place to unwind with a few appetizers and craft beers.
Roost is a must try for anyone staying in or planning on visiting downtown Greenville. If your visit falls during the week, be sure to treat yourself to a fresh healthy buffet at the Harvest Table. And, if your visit falls on a weekend, do not hesitate to treat yourself to the indulgent Sunday Brunch buffet.
