Pizzico, an upscale Italian restaurant, in Providence, Rhode Island is a great choice for anyone seeking a delicious lunch destination in a classy setting. I wasn't sure about this restaurant after trying out numerous so-so restaurants in the area, however, Pizzico was a pleasant surprise. I absolutely loved the Pumpkin Ravioli and the gorgeous dining ambiance.
Pizzico's menu includes a selection of appetizers, main entrees, pasta plates, tuscan pizzas, and a raw bar. I was impressed with the lunch menu, which was small but included plenty of vegetarian options. I went with the Pasta di Zucca (Pumpkin Ravioli). Pumpkin Ravioli is a delicious dish that unfortunately is not offered at most Italian restaurants! I loved the creamy pesto sauce covering the ravioli; it was very rich and flavorful. The serving size was a bit small, but still filing for a lunch entree.
Mike enjoyed his Tuscan Grilled spinach, mushroom, and tomato pizza. The pizza was supposed to come with feta cheese, however, the waitress was happy to replace the feta with mozzarella.
Menu highlights include Tuscan Grilled Pizza and a Raw bar. Pasta entrees include everything from Crab Spaghetti, to Lobster Penne alla Vodka, Capellini Pomodoro (a fresh and healthy choice for vegetarians). Dessert choices include: Vanilla cheesecake, Tiramisu, and Chocolate Mousse Cake.
Half priced appetizers and pizza available 4-6pm (12-6 on Fridays).
Service was friendly and fast. The restaurant was not too busy on a weekday afternoon. The waitress was happy to make substitutions, and brought out refills of drinks and bread as soon as they were needed.
I enjoyed the classy design, black and white photographs, brick walls, and the overall theme of the restaurant. The dining room is small with a trendy, urban vibe. This is a great place for a lunch date.
I would dine at Pizzico again. This was one of the best Italian restaurants we have tried out in Providence, as of yet. The atmosphere, service, and most importantly, food were all worth a return visit! I need another plate of that Pumpkin Ravioli!
