Va Bene is one of the best Italian dining experience you will have in the Phoenix region. The classy ambiance, delicious & affordably priced Italian cuisine, and amazing waitstaff, would bring me back in a heartbeat!
Va Bene offers a tasty menu of Old World Italian favorites. They serve a variety of pizzas including Margherita, and a Seafood with calamari, shrimp, and and mussels. You will find all the traditional favorites like Spaghetti Marinara, Rigatoni with homemade meat sauce, linguine in pesto sauce, and Gnocchi in a pink vodka sauce on the menu. I highly recommend ordering the classic Marinara or the Fettuccine with Mushrooms & chicken in a light cream sauce. Both dishes were extraordinary.
As for starters, the minestrone soup with pesto and Pasta e Fagioli soups were both so good, it would be difficult to recommend one over the other. The salads at Va Bene are terrific, so consider ordering a fresh Caesar salad to accompany your soup.
And you simply cannot leave without treating yourself to a tasty dessert. The selection varies by day, however, I highly recommend the dark chocolate Godiva cheesecake if it is available. Wow, what a decadent treat!
Prices are very affordable in comparison to other Italian dining choices in the area. Portions are pretty large, so do not over order. And do not over stuff yourself with the complimentary bread and olive oil - it's delicious, but really stuffs you up fast!
Va Bene really excels in the service department. Waiters are professional, friendly, & extremely familiar with everything on the menu. You will have no problems asking your waiter any questions about anything on the menu.
We were asked throughout our meal how we enjoyed everything. Fresh bread was continually brought out without us requesting more. The service was just perfect, and it was great to feel like a valued customer as opposed to simply business. I would dine here again just for the stellar service.
The cozy, yet elegant dining room makes Va Bene the perfect choice for a date or special occasion meal in Phoenix. The classy vibe & modern design theme, including some nice art adorning the walls, makes it one of Chandler's top fine dining choices.
The space is quite big (much larger than it looks from the outside), however, we were lucky enough to be the sole diners during a late weekday lunch.
Va Bene is definitely worth a look if you live in or happen to be visiting the Phoenix metro area. In terms of fantastic Italian cuisine in an attractive setting, you will be hard pressed to find a better choice. Don't be fooled by the strip mall location: the setting is really beautiful and unique!
