Skidder's is a family-owned restaurant located in St. Pete Beach, thus making it a good choice before or after along day at St. Pete Beach, Madeira Beach, or Pass-a-Grille Beach. They serve your typical big, diverse family restaurant style menu with lots of comfort breakfast and lunch fare, meaning there are plenty of choices for everyone. This is the type of place your whole party can agree on for breakfast or lunch before or after a day of fun-in-the-sun.
The menu here is huge, especially the extensive omelet choices. Belgian waffles, French Toast, and pancakes with various toppings are also popular.
If you are dining for lunch, you will have no shortage of options. There is an abundance of Greek and Italian entrees to choose amongst. A fresh Greek salad is a great choice following a long hot day in the sun. If you are craving something heftier, you can take your pick amongst specialty pizzas, Italian pasta dishes, hamburgers, subs and clubs, sandwiches, steaks and seafood entrees, and Greek dishes. There are lots of choices.
The menu is quite pricey compared to most diners because of the prime beach location. The food is average at best, although the diverse menu is really a highlight for anyone dining with an indecisive big party. If anything, your biggest issues with likely be deciding whether to go with breakfast or lunch!
Service is so-so. Kind of slow and not overly friendly, but adequate.
The ambiance is causal, no frills. This is the type of place you can visit before or after your beach day without feeling like you need to get dressed up.
Overall, the casual vibe and expansive menu make Skidder's a good choice for anyone spending the day at St. Pete area beaches. There are so many options and the food is decent enough to please anyone coming in hungry after a long beach day on Florida's Gulf.
