Grotto Cafe
Grotto Cafe is the best choice in Cave Creek for a laid-back brunch or lunch dining experience. I recommend stopping by for a light meal and coffee before exploring beautiful nearby Cave Creek State Park.
The tranquil outdoor patio and abundance of healthy entrees make the Grotto Cafe a perfect post-hike choice.
Food
The menu at Grotto Cafe is very simple, consisting of light breakfast and lunch fare. It's a great place to enjoy a muffin and coffee in the morning, or a light sandwich and bowl of soup in the afternoon. If you are in the mood for a classic lunch in a tranquil setting, Grotto Cafe is the perfect choice.
If you are visiting for breakfast, there are a number of great choices here including French Toast, Burritos, Bagels, Biscuits and Gravy, and Yogurt Parfait. For lunch, you have your choice amongst a variety of sandwiches, salads, and soup. The Southwestern salad and Turkey Avocado were both excellent.
All entrees are affordably priced and sandwiches are served with kettle chips and a pickle, so not a bad deal for the price. If you need gluten-free, they have GF bread available.
The coffee here is quite delicious. They serve organic beans from a local roaster in Cave Creek.
Service
The staff at Grotto Cafe are really friendly. Our Americano was a bit weak and they had no problem giving us an extra shot - free of charge.
Atmosphere
The beautiful garden-like outdoor patio is what really sets the Grotto Cafe apart from others in town. This beautiful courtyard is surrounded by trees - you might even forget you are in the desert for a while! This little oasis is really shady so enjoyable almost anytime of the year!
Final Remarks
Grotto Cafe is the perfect stop before or after exploring Cave Creek State Park or any of the other wonderful natural attractions in the area. The casual setting and laid-back outdoor patio mean you can come in right off the trail in your workout gear and enjoy a rewarding fueling snack.
