Which U.S. cities get the most snow?
Have you ever wondered what cities actually get the most snowfall per year? This list will likely make you want to run away from any of the cities on this list. However, if you are a big fan of snow you might just want to book your next vacation to one of these winter wonderlands. Personally, I love winter as ice skating and cross country skiing are 2 of my favorite fitness activities. Plus, there is nothing better than watching a movie or playing a board game with a cup of hot cocoa while watching the snow fall down.

My favorite winter destinations
Flagstaff, Arizona – Yes, this high altitude town in Northern Arizona sits at an elevation of 7000 feet and gets over 100 inches of snow per year. In fact, it is one of the snowiest in the US! I was lucky enough to live here during one of the snowiest season of all time where 30+ inches of snow fell within a period of a few days. Flagstaff is home to one of the only ski resorts in the Southwest, plus a wonderful nordic center, tons of snow play areas. Plus, the scenic mountain views make any type of winter recreation, from cross country skiing to snowshoeing that more special.
White Mountains of New Hampshire – Wonderful peaceful winter destination, conveniently located just a few hours from numerous Northeast cities including Boston and Providence. Festive winter things to do include sleigh rides and ice skating at Nestlenook Farms and cross country skiing at Bretton Woods: the largest Nordic center on the East Coast.
South Lake Tahoe – There is so much to do in this beautiful year-round resort city, including hiking at Emerald Bay State Park and skiing at Squaw Valley, home of the 1960’s Olympics. More winter fun things scenic gondola rides, festive ice skating, sledding, and snowmobiling.
