Cafe Nordstrom: The Best Restaurant at Rhode Island’s Providence Place Mall

Mike and I were looking for something different to eat than our usual at Providence Place Mall and unexpectedly ran into the Marketplace Cafe at Nordstrom. This restaurant, located on the upper level of Nordstrom department store, offers great views of the surrounding trees in a quiet, classy atmosphere.

Here are a few pictures of the dining room. The setting is casual, but upscale. It’s a great place for an afternoon date in between shopping at the mall.

The menu is a decent size and all entrees are displayed in a glass counter which is pretty cool. This allows you to get a glimpse at what your meal will look like. The employees were very friendly and offered to give us samples.

I like that Nordstrom uses organic produce, does not use hydrogenated oils. I ordered the Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad (minus the chicken). This salad was amazing – better than I anticipated! A great tasting combination of mixed organic greens, cheese, roasted peppers, pumpkin seeds, and tomatoes, topped with a cilantro lime vinaigrette.

Mike ordered the Chicken Mozzarella Ciabatta, which he said also loved. This sandwich consisted of grilled chicken, tomato, mozzarella, organic spinach, pesto,and a balsamic glaze.

The servings sizes were not huge, but enough for a light, delicious lunch. This cafe is the perfect spot for a quick lunch at the mall. It might not be the most popular restaurant, but it sure was one of the best we have tried!
