Update: Since living in New England, we have explored so many great attractions. From famous historical sites, to quiet nature preserves, there really is something here for everyone. Check out my guide to learn more.
While living in Fall River this year, we decided to check out one of the largest casinos in the world. We are really into watching the WSOP so we had heard all about this place in the last few years. The great thing about living in southeastern Massachusetts is that we are with a close drive to so many great places. I figured we would check this place out while living in close proximity.
Recently, I had the opportunity to play Bingo at Foxwoods, home to the one of the largest Bingo halls in the world. I am not a big fan of the game, but we wanted to check out this casino and this was the cheapest activity (basically the best bang-for-your-buck choice as I am not into losing a lot of money gambling). I consider Bingo a fun old-school game, not gambling.
I was impressed with how huge the seating area was – it was nice to have plenty of personal space during the games. Games aren’t too expensive ($10 for the morning matinee games which start at 10:30am and $15-20 for the regular games which start at 6:30pm).
For $15, I was surprised at how many games you got to play. There were around 20 games to play along with door prizes. There are also options throughout the session to purchase additional games. If you aren’t playing the additional games (which run several dollars a piece) you will be bored! I hated having to wait for the additional bonus games to be played. There were so many extra games played (around 10) which took place after nearly every regular game. I had to sit unoccupied through each of the bonus games that I didn’t purchase.
Doors open at 4:00 for the nightly games. I don’t recommend arriving until 6:00 or so or you will be bored sitting around waiting for the games to start! It really was a long time to wait – I ended up walking around the casino. How long does it take to set up your stuff? I only recommend this Bingo hall if you are planning on purchasing all special games and can handle sitting through a 4 hour Bingo session!

Dine at the Hard Rock – I love the fun rock n’roll vibe and the many comfort food choices. I try to visit new locations every time I travel. I especially love their loaded nachos and Twisted Mac and Cheese which really has a kick to it! The spring rolls are so amazing too and surprising vegetarian (usually they are made with chicken).

Relax at the Norwich Spa – A variety of treatments available. Plus you get to use the steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi. Day passes also available.
Indulge at Johnny Rockets – Fun place to enjoy an unhealthy treat while on vacation. Their fries and shakes aar the best – I had the most delicious dark chocolate Godiva shake here one time. The fun retro 50’s theme is a blast to the past. Bonus – new vegan shakes on the lineup.
Attractions & Shopping – There are a number of shops plus tons of activities to enjoy including arcades, bowling, an escape room, TopGolf, ziplining, and a winter ice rink. There are plans to open a Great Wolf Lodge (a popular indoor water park with many locations) in 2024. Update: This waterpark opened in May of 2025 as New England’s largest waterpark.
Address: This resort is located at: 350 Trolley Line Blvd Mashantucket, CT 06338
What to do in the vicinity: While you are here, I also recommend checking out the Mohegan Sun. It’s an awesome Vegas style casino with many amenities. I especially love Todd English’s Tuscany restaurant. Which do I prefer? Even though Foxwoods is more popular and bigger, I really love the Mohegan Sun.
There are so many great restaurants here and I love the shopping area. I feel like the entire resort is a bit more low-key and the vibe is a little more high end. If you are looking to take a vacation without hitting the slot, my pick would go to Mohegan.
