Review Details

The Borgata is the premier resort to stay at in Atlantic City: the most Vegas-like in terms of amenities and beauty. The prime benefit of staying here is being located far away from the touristy beach and boardwalk crowds. While you can take a quick drive or shuttle to these areas, you can come back to a quiet, refined resort which offers so many of its' own amenities that it is hard to leave!

Appearance

I love the entire ambiance at this resort. This is the only place in Atlantic City where you can feel like you are in a Vegas style resort. The entire property is so beautiful. I absolutely love the Chihuly sculptures throughout. I am a big fan of artist Dale Chihuly: his colorful glass blown art pieces are nothing short of amazing. You will see many sculptures and even a dedicated garden throughout the resort. The hotel rooms, lobby, restaurants, and even the casino floor are all so well-maintained and clean here. One of my favorite aspects of this hotel are the gorgeous pool areas. I really love the gorgeous garden setting. Overall, you will not find a more luxurious resort in Atlantic City!

Amenities

Amenities include 2 indoor pools, jacuzzis, and outdoor pool, a spa and salon, and numerous restaurants. As I mentioned above, the pools are amazing. I set aside several hours just to enjoy lazing around the pool and soaking in the hot tub (laps available for those motivated to workout on vacation!). I love that the pool opens early so I can get up and enjoy it to myself before the afternoon crowds hit! At the seasonal outdoor pool, you can rent a cabana and enjoy poolside cocktails. Another great amenity here is the diversity of restaurants. Really, the dining options here are quite good. First off, this property is home to the best buffet in Atlantic City. The line is super long all the time for a reason. I have dined here at all times of the day and appreciated the variety of options and maintenance and cleanliness of the buffet and dining areas. There are a lot of vegetarian friendly options and the dessert assortment is amazing. I've never left disappointed. I also love The Metropolitan cafe: the ambiance is gorgeous and their espresso is amazing. There is a Starbucks convenient on-site and the Borgata Baking Company is an awesome pace to pick up a few treats or macaroons (really, who can resist?!). Noodles of the World (NOW) is a trendy Asian restaurant which offers excellent small plates, wok based entrees, and a really cool ambiance. The resort fee is a bit high at $30, although most casinos and resort today charge a similar rate. Not much you can do but enjoy the great amenities like the pools and fitness center so you are not missing out!

Price

Room rates can range between $100 during the week during non busy periods to over $300 during busy summer weekends/holiday periods. Sure, there are much cheaper hotels in Atlantic City. In my opinion, it's worth paying a bit more for this resort due to the luxurious setting, quiet location, and abundance of great amenities.

Room

The basic rooms here are decent enough: clean, well-maintained, and modern. You will receive a view of either the city or water which is nice. The marble shower and soaking tubs are beautiful and spacious. MGM Tower rooms are a little nicer if you want to shell out a few extra bucks. The Stay Well rooms are a nice choice for the health conscious. You will pay a bit more but enjoy the following: UV lights for bacteria prevention, memory foam mattresses, aromatherapy, and use of non toxic cleaning products.

Final Words

The Borgata is a wonderful lodging choice in Atlantic City: it's the best-of-the-best if you are looking for luxury. The gorgeous pools, beautiful artwork, upscale dining options, and quiet location away from the boardwalk, easily make it the best choice for a couple's getaway.
