DAVIDsTEA
DAVIDsTEA is a Canadian tea chain which has begun opening locations across the U.S. Two locations have opened recently in Boston. I visited the Tremont Washington Street location after ice skating at Frog Pond (it is located within walking distance).
Employees were giving out free samples at the Boston Common tree lighting ceremony back in late November, which is how I found out about this store. They also gave out free coupons to come back for a cup of tea, so I couldn't pass up that offer!
Food
There is no food served here, only tea. When you first walk in they will give you a random sample. I ordered the cookie dough white tea and it was simply amazing. I have never had a better tea! It actually tasted like cookie dough - I don't know how they managed to do it but I felt like I was drinking cookie dough.
I have never seen so many unique flavors of tea. They have every flavor you can imagine available - traditional teas, fruit flavored teas, and special teas such as cherry coke, root beer float, strawberry shortcake, red velvet cake, and dozens more!
Service
Service was friendly. They had no problem accepting the free drink coupons. They were very helpful telling us about the different flavors available and making recommendations based on our personal tastes. Tea samples are readily available.
Atmosphere
There really isn't anywhere to sit inside, so we decided to take a walk around the Boston Common area, which was nice although freezing cold! Luckily, the tea warmed us up a bit!
You can also purchase loose leaf tea to bring home with you. Gift sets, mugs, and other novelties are also available for purchase. It's a great place to do a little holiday shopping for tea lovers!
Final Remarks
I would definitely go back to DAVIDsTEA again to try a new flavor. I loved the cookie dough white tea and I highly recommend trying it out. I like that this shop is located close enough that you can walk over and warm yourself up after skating!
