Sweet Sage is a casual cafe, popular with tourists, thanks to its' close proximity to Indian Rocks and North Redington Beach. Stop by for a hearty breakfast or relaxing lunch after a long day of fun-in-the-sun. The tropical patio is super popular with tourists seeking that vacation vibe.
Everything is made fresh to order here including fresh squeezed tangerine juice and daily muffins. Breakfast drinks include espresso drinks (they serve a full specialty menu), coffee, mimosas, and fruit smoothies.
Entrée selections include a wide range of benedict's, scramblers, French Toast, bagel Sandwiches, Belgian Waffles, biscuits and gravy, and a number of specialty dishes which may change throughout the year.
The veggie scrambler which features onions, peppers, tomatoes, spinach, and cheese is a nice choice for anyone trying to eat a bit healthier. Portion sizes are not huge, but adequate for the price. Unfortunately, the hash browns were overcooked.
Anyone with a sweet tooth will want to try their famous "Waflledaffle," a Belgian waffle topped with whipped cream, raspberry sauce and seasonal fruit.
If you find yourself visiting around lunch time, you will have a number of appetizers, sandwiches, Steak burgers, wraps, and entrees to choose amongst. You will find a number of healthy choices including 10 salads, a Mediterranean wrap, and a Turkey Breast sandwich.
Update: I have seen some reviewers state that they use powdered eggs. I hope this isn't the case, but I would recommend ordering eggs over easy just in case.
Service is attentive and the coffee refills thankfully kept coming.
Although the indoor dining area can get busy and stuffy, the outdoor patio is airy and breezy, the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading off to the beach. The decor is tropical and colorful with many unique and eclectic signs and decor everywhere you look. The decor and lively vibe definitely says Florida.
Beat the crowds and swing by Sweet Sage early for a leisurely breakfast on the patio. This place opens earlier than most (7am), so you can enjoy a quiet breakfast without the crowds, and then proceed to beat the tourists at lovely Indian Rocks/North Redington Beach.
