Blue Blinds Bakery
Blue Blinds Bakery is a cute local bakery and coffee shop, housed in a historical colonial home near the Plymouth waterfront. Due to its' convenient location, it's a nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee and homemade pastry before exploring the historical sites around Plymouth.
Food
Blue Blinds is one of the few places to get local coffee in Plymouth. It's very popular with tourists due to the convenient location near the harbor. They offer a small selection of homemade bakery treats daily, most of which are organic. Sweet rolls, spelt muffins, Danishes, and scones are a few of the daily treats offered. Additionally, they offer a small menu of sandwiches and homemade soups.
They offer a number of organic teas as well as a full espresso menu. Coffee is fair trade and roasted by a local company called Speedwell. The coffee was just alright, better than Starbucks, but not top notch.
Service
Service was not as friendly as we expected for a tourist town, and not the norm for the area.
Atmosphere
The decor inside is quite charming with big colorful historical murals. There is a cozy fireplace for those cold winter days. During the summer months, you can take a seat out on one of the rocking chairs and enjoy the mild weather.
Final Remarks
While not the best coffee in town, Blue Blinds is one of your only choices for local coffee and bakery treats near the Plymouth harbor. It may be worth stopping in for an espresso and muffin before checking out the area's beautiful waterfront and historical attractions.
