La Famigila is a casual, family-run Italian restaurant in Boston's famous North End neighborhood. While it's far from the best Italian food you will find in the city, it's a great choice for those looking for an affordable standard Italian meal in a laid-back, non stuffy setting.

Food
La Famigila's menu is your basic lineup of traditional Italian fare. Don't expect any exotic fare here, just traditional Italian classics. They offer a nice selection of homemade raviolis including pumpkin, mushroom, lobster, shrimp, and spinach.
The pizza and marinara pasta we tested out were both very good and also very affordable for being located in a historic neighborhood in a large city.
Service
Service was friendly, although really slow. We had to wait forever to get an extra side of marinara. This is not the place to go if you are in a hurry. If you do not mind trading slow service for a casual vibe, then you should be satisfied.
Atmosphere
The vibe here is very old-school and authentic. If you are looking for a mom and pop Italian restaurant with an affordable menu and do not mind sacrificing the ritzy setting and upscale service, then La Famigila should please.
If you are a foodie looking for great Instagram photos, you should probably skip out on this one. The dining room is simple and cozy - a nice place to enjoy a warm meal on a cold winter's day.
As an added bonus, no reservations are required and there is no line to get in compared to many other North End restaurants.
