I always make it a point to visit Hard Rock Café locations when I am traveling. The atmosphere is fun and I enjoy the food and music. It is fun to see how many different glasses you can collect around the country. I have collected about 10 glasses so far from various locations. I also love looking at the rock memorabilia.
Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood is located on Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the Walk of Fame and Hollywood and Highland mall. I stopped in after being a spectator as the stars arrived at the Green Lantern premiere. It was really fun seeing Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively in person, but that is another story!
Hard Rock offers a menu full of comfort fare. For this reason alone, it's a great vacation or night out on the town restaurant. From apps, to burgers, to fajitas, there is plenty of tasty selection to choose amongst.
Mike and I ordered the Jumbo appetizer plaza which included potato skins, cheese sticks, spring rolls, onion rings, and chicken tenders. This appetizer is humongous and qualifies as a meal in itself! My favorite appetizer is definitely the spring rolls! I get them on every visit!
Update: The Jumbo app is sadly no longer available. However, the onion rings, flatbreads, and nachos are all great alternatives.
I also got the twisted macaroni and cheese, which is a great spicy variation on traditional macaroni and cheese. Mike ordered the turkey burger and said that it was worth the price as well. The novelty drinks here are always good and you can pay a little extra to keep the souvenir Hard Rock glass.
The prices are kind of high depending on what you order, but I don't mind paying more for the fun atmosphere. If you skip the drinks and buy moderate priced entrees, you really can walk out spending less than $50 per couple. Tip: keep your receipt! There is a code to complete a survey in which you can receive a discount off your next meal.
The waiter was pretty bad, but the restaurant was completely packed. He messed up our potato skins by putting bacon on them, but quickly rectified the problem. I have been to this location several times in the past and the service you receive really depends on which waiter you get, along with the crowd levels.
I love listening to the music and looking at the rock memorabilia after I eat. This location had screens in each booth which was a fun bonus. Hard Rock Hollywood had a contemporary, high energy vibe and was packed with people due to the touristy location.
I recommend visiting this Hard Rock on Hollywood Blvd. location because the food is good, the atmosphere is fun, and it is centrally located to other area attractions like the Walk of Fame, Hollywood and Highland Center, the wax museum, and various other Hollywood attractions.
