Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort is a gorgeous place to plan a weekend getaway to beautiful Hilton Head Island, one of the top beach vacation destinations in South Carolina.
A combination of wonderful amenities, moderate prices, a relaxing tropical atmosphere, well-maintained grounds, and direct access to the beach, easily place this resort ahead of all the rest. The luxurious amenities and quiet vibe make it an ideal getaway for couples celebrating anniversaries, birthday, and other special occasions.
Upon entering the resort, you will immediately notice all the lush landscaping surrounding the grounds (even in the parking lot!). Plenty of meticulous landscaping, especially around the pool and courtyard areas, make this resort feel like a total escape (especially for those coming from major cities). The resort is clean and quiet with a relaxing atmosphere. I was definitely impressed with the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds, pool, rooms, and even dining areas.
Omni Hilton Head offers every amenity you could possibly ask for in a beach vacation. The resort includes 3 pools (including a fantastic adults only option), 2 hot tubs, an on-site restaurant and bar, poolside food and drink service, bike rentals, access to tennis courts, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, a life size chess board, a full service spa, 2 outdoor fire pits, and live music during dinner hour at the resort's restaurant.
Those with a Starbucks fix will be pleased to know that the resort offers freshly brewed Starbucks drinks (for a fee), in addition to a nice lounge area complete with computers and relaxing sofas.
The 3 pools are all beautifully maintained and surrounded by lush landscaping. The hot tubs are perfect after your daily activities. In terms of recreation, bike riding is very popular on the island (with over 80 miles of trails including 5 on the grounds of the resort).
In addition to all these desirable amenities, you are located directly on the waterfront with access to the resort's private beach.
The biggest perk of all is being able to walk right down to the beach each morning for a gorgeous sunrise walk. Or take a bike right down to the beach (the sand is hard packed and smooth, making it perfect for a leisurely ride!). Just a short 2 minute walkway and you are there!
The resort rents out chairs and umbrellas for those looking to spend a relaxing day enjoying the mild year round weather and wide, smooth, sandy beaches of Hilton Head.
The resort restaurant, HH Prime, makes for a wonderful night out, complete with excellent entrees, great live music, and a beautiful outdoor patio. Relaxing by the fire pit with a drink before or after your dinner compliments the evening perfectly.
Palmetto Cafe, a casual cafe serving morning pastries, a light lunch menu (including a make your own salad bar), and Starbucks drinks is another convenient option.
Everything you could possibly need is included at this resort. If you are looking for total relaxation, entertainment, and dining without the need to leave, you will easily find it all here!
Rates are typically highest during the busy summer season, with average prices ranging from $300-400 per night. Luxury rooms can set you back almost a grand. Off season rates during the winter months can be found for as low as $89 per night. A late fall visit is ideal as the temperatures are still nice, rates are lower, and there are fewer crowds. Update: As of 2025, the lowest rate you will get is probably around $200, with averages running $200-400.
Rooms are currently scheduled to be remodeled in the spring of 2015, however, the current rooms are still very spacious (over 500 square feet) with a small kitchenette (includes a coffee maker, sink, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, and small dining table), large bathrooms, and private balconies.
Many rooms include beautiful views of the courtyard or ocean. Whether you choose an ocean or resort view, you are sure to be pleased with the wonderful atmosphere.
Update: In 2024, the resort underwent a 26 million dollar renovation. Both the lobby and guest rooms were upgraded, and the courtyard and balconies were expanded. I can't wait to return and see the improvements.
Omni Oceanfront is one of the best lodging choices for guests new to Hilton Head. The range of amenities, great service, access to the beautiful beaches, and fantastic tropical atmosphere are sure to leave you with a great impression of the island!
