After a long day at Indian Rocks Beach, there are lots of local cafes where you can enjoy a quick bite to eat. When you are tired and overheated and seeking a simple casual cafe to enjoy a quick bite, Bay 1 should do the trick. This local cafe offers sandwiches, empanadas, and ice cream at an affordable price point.
The menu is pretty simple here, consisting of sandwiches, empanadas, and ice cream from a local company in Sarasota. Sandwich options include their popular Cuban, plus pulled Pulled Pork, Reuben, Italian, Ham and Cheese, Turkey and Cheese, Turkey Club, and BLT. The sole vegetarian options are Peanut Butter and Jelly and Grilled Cheese.
The empanadas are really delicious. Try the Spinach, Artichoke, and Cheese if you are seeking something really savory and flavorful.
Of course, after a long day in the sun, sometimes you just crave ice cream. They offer over 10 options of homemade ice cream which you can get by the scoop or cone. Floats, shakes, sundaes, banana splits, and malts available.
This is a quick service restaurant, so there is no waiter service. The people working the register seemed friendly enough.
The setting here is really low-key. It's never overly busy and the vibe super casual. Not much in the decor department, Bay 1 is simply a laid-back place to grab a quick bite to eat after a tiresome day at the beach.
Bay 1 is a good choice for anyone looking for a simple place to grab a quick bite after a hot day enjoying beautiful Indian Rocks Beach. Conveniently, it is located within minutes from one of the Gulf's top beaches.
