Jimmy Guana's is a casual restaurants serving mainly seafood inside the Holiday Inn and Suites in Clearwater Beach. The menu is comprised of almost entirely seafood, so if you are a seafood lover, you should be extremely pleased with the offerings. This is a convenient dining choice for those staying at the connected Hilton, as well as anyone visiting nearby Clearwater.
The appetizer selection is really extensive with over a dozen seafood based options, from Margaritaville Shrimp, to Conch Fritters, to Key Largo Grouper nuggets with fries. The spinach artichoke dip is a great non seafood option,as is the veggie hummus plate.
Entrees include everything from burgers, to gumbo and soup, to sandwiches and wraps, and of course, a large selection of seafood based entrees. One popular option is the Seafood Lovers Combo which includes jumbo shrimp, grouper, and scallops, along with fries and coleslaw.
If you do not like seafood, you are not entirely out of luck. A few chicken sandwiches and pastas are available. An option for the health conscious is the Guana Bowl which includes island rice with an assortment of healthy veggies (bok choy, snow peas, broccoli, red & green peppers, water chestnuts, red onions, mushrooms and carrots). The bowl is topped with a garlic based soy sauce and served with garlic bread. For extra protein, you can choose to add shrimp or chicken. I wasn't expecting much, but this bowl was pretty darn delicious and filling.
Everything is a bit overpriced here, although the same can be said for most touristy restaurants near the beach. Expect to pay a premium for the convenient location.
Service was alright - a bit slow on the refills, but overall a pleasant experience.
The setting is a bit hectic and noisy as there are constantly people crossing the restaurant to get to the waterpark, as well as many birthday parties. Not really my style as it felt a bit dirty and trashy to have people crossing the dining room to get to the park. However, if you are staying at the hotel or seeking a casual place to take the family to eat, it may work for you.
There is a nice view of the water from the outdoor deck. In addition, live entertainment is a frequent occurrence.
A great place if you are seeking a lively vacation dining experience rather than a quiet meal.
Jimmy Guana's is a convenient choice if you are staying at the hotel or visiting the waterpark for the day. If you are seeking a family-friendly restaurant with lots of seafood options, Jimmy Guana's should please. Anyone seeking a casual dining option with a nice tropical vacation flair will likely be pleased with this restaurant.
