Mike and I stopped by Fullers for breakfast one rainy morning on our Portland vacation. We were staying in a nearby Kimpton and this cafe was located within convenient walking distance. Fuller's is a classic 50's style diner in downtown Portland. The nostalgic old-school vibe, friendly service, and delicious home-cooked food warrant a stop here for breakfast on any Portland vacation.
Fuller's menu is simple and affordable, with all your favorite breakfast classics on the lineup. No avocado toast here! Just simple basic breakfast fare that we all grew up enjoying. The hash browns and eggs are perfectly cooked and they make their own delicious sourdough bread. Try one of their specialty omelets. They are overflowing with whatever toppings you choose and served alongside perfectly cooked hash browns, which are crisp and not overly soggy as is oftentimes the case. Mike and I both really enjoyed the food and would definitely return to try something else. Other tempting items on the menu include: Blueberry Pancakes, French Toast, and Huevos Rancheros. On my next visit, I would love to try Georgia's Potatoes Deluxe which is basically hash browns topped with cheese, mushrooms, spinach, onions, green chillies, and tomatoes served with toast.
The staff at Fuller's are so friendly. This place offers that charming local vibe which you do not come across all too often anymore.
Fuller's is the type of place where you can take a seat on the stool at the old-fashioned counter and chat with locals, linger over a coffee and newspaper, and enjoy home-cooked classic breakfast fare in a casual setting. This cafe is one of those rare restaurants that can be enjoyed by both longtime local devotees, as well as tourists seeking that hard-to-find old time charm. If you love classic diners, you will definitely want to give Fuller's a try. As a fan of anything retro and unique, I really loved the ambiance. It's so nice to come across anyone restaurant today that puts a bit of effort into the design and atmosphere.
For a simple, classic breakfast in a laid-back setting, head straight over to Fullers. This old-school gem is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely home-cooked meal. The homecooked food and the homey old-fashioned vibe would bring me back in a heartbeat on my next visit to Portland.
