Don Vito's is a fantastic Italian restaurant located inside the South Point Resort. As we were in town for the Rock N' Roll Half Marathon, we were in need of a carb heavy Italian restaurant to fuel up for the big 13 mile race the next night. We originally intended to try out one of the fancy Italian options at The Venetian or Bellagio as a pre race treat. However, we ended up at Don Vito's after passing it several times at our hotel, South Point. The restaurant looked enticing and was conveniently located just downstairs from our hotel room. I have to say that I was impressed with the food, service, and pretty setting of this spectacular Italian gem. Not only did we enjoy our fabulous meals, but we also saved ourselves a few hours of time by not attempting to drive and walk around the Strip during this busy race weekend. More time to relax before the race, along with a wonderful meal: it was a win-win situation!
The fresh rolls, served with sundried tomato olive oil dipping sauce, was a filling and delicious complimentary starter. The rolls were more flavorful than the standard offering at Italian restaurants, and the dipping sauce was different, yet fantastic. The menu consisted of Italian favorites like stuffed mushrooms, brushetta, and calamari for appetizers, soups and salads, and a decent sized list of pasta dishes and entrees. Some highlights include Lobster Ravioli, Spaghetti and Homemade Meatballs, Filet Mignon, and Eggplant Parmesan. They even offer a great option for vegans: Vegan Vito's, a delicious dish consisting of whole wheat penne topped with marinara (or olive oil) and tons of veggies. I ordered this dish and truly enjoyed it. The serving was very large and they did not skimp at all on the wonderful veggies! We also tried the Cheese Spinach Ravioli, which was topped with a deliciously creamy tomato cream sauce. It is definitely something I would like to try myself at home! Both our dishes were so filling that we barely had room for dessert. However, we couldn't resist the tempting menu. We went with the Cappuccino Cheesecake, a decadent treat with an amazing rich flavor.
The service at Don Vito's was just perfect: friendly, professional, fast, and totally accommodating. Too many restaurants today slack in the service department, so we really appreciated the good old fashioned service at Don Vito's. At Don Vito's, the standard of service is just as important as the quality of the meal.
The setting at Don Vito's is classy, stylish, and romantic. The room is attractively decorated, without being overdone. The music is played at just the right level, not to interrupt conversation. The quiet and elegant dining area, combined with very attentive service, make it the perfect date night/celebratory dinner in Vegas.
Don Vito's was the perfect pre-marathon dinner in Vegas. I am really glad that we decided to take a chance at this fantastic restaurant. The pasta dishes were amazing, the setting refined and cozy, and the service definitely an A+. I will definitely make Don Vito's my go-to Italian stop in Vegas!
